That is a "Don't mess with me" sword if I ever saw one.

@Stig Hemmer: And in the hands of a proper badass, of course. Hahaha.

@Seven Rain: I see what you did there

...Key-Sword ;)

@JoKeRcologne: 'Tis indeed a loveletter to the Keyblade.

@Seven Rain: ... oh ...of course ...Keyblade not sword.

Even so it is bad ass, I like his old sword more because of it's usability.
The hand-guard things are more a hindrance than an advantage in a real fight.

(^___-)

(I'm a nitpicking sword enthusiast)

@JoKeRcologne: Haha, well I won't argue with you on that. I know full well that I've opted for style over realism/practicality.

I like to keep doses of down-to-earth elements amongst all the magic and fantasy, but overall the EthereaVerse is going to be filled with a lot of rule of cool. Hope that doesn't hinder the experience for you in the long run!

@Seven Rain: I'm fine with that... It's just as I said. I'm nitpicking. (^___^)

But who am I to say what is plausible and what not ...my sword designs were once labelled by a real swordsmith as unwieldy and impracticable.

@JoKeR: Unrealistic swords are nice... but even if I dream up a character who is *insert unrealistic even in magic terms ability or race here*, I still always opt for a simple bastard sword within minimal ornamentation over, let us say, literally every sword ever used in Africa ever. Of course, I'd rather have a mace or a hammer (don't need to worry about learning how to cut past armor or find weak spots when you can just break their bones and smash the blade out of their hands)

@Seven Rain: If ever someone gets to complaining too much about the handguards, just make them extend out as blade catchers (which are practical, as you can snap that shit and then you're enemy has no blade) in a similar fashion to those knives that the one ninja turtle uses.

Badass and useful.

@Redjive: Don't worry, Ixis's sword will have more forms to take on, haha. We'll see if those handguards make the transition or not.
(Though as Joker mentioned this particular form of his blade was meant as a reference to the Keyblade from Kingdom Hearts, which is far from a practical weapon.)
