Well, that one hit home for her. Can't blame her-- a lot of us can identify with the feeling of helplessness in certain situations. Even when they involve dreams and aspirations. <3

Whenever I'm confronted with such scenarios, I remember a quote spoken by Antillar Maximus (the protagonist's best friend) in the Codex Alera series:

"In the course of my life, I have more than once been too ignorant to know that something was impossible before I did it anyway."

@ServerPanda: Yes indeedy, it's a painful feeling. In Reina's case it's one that'll certainly kick-start some positive changes, though!

@The_Hankerchief: I like that quote. Never heard of Codex Alera, but I should really find more time for reading novels and stuff like that.

It's awesome. For example, the whole series was started over a bet on an Internet forum for writers. The discussion was about how all the good ideas were taken. Jim Butcher disagreed, and another poster challenged him to write a story based on an idea that's been done before. Jim said he'd take two- and the dude gave him "Pokémon" and "the lost Roman Legion". The six-book Codex Alera series was the result. Lol

@The_Hankerchief: Ha! That's pretty nuts. I'll have to at the very least check out some synopsis stuff of it or something sometime.
