Prologue Name Change

(Funnily enough the last news post I made was regarding a chapter change, so I guess this feels significant enough to warrant another one.)

It feels kinda weird, (and a bit tearful even,) doing this to WOE's oldest chapter, (almost ten years old now!) but for a few years now I've been toying with the idea of renaming the prologue of WOE for a few reasons, primarily to make it fit in better with the later chapters' singular titles, but also because "A Story For Eternity" was just so nonsensical.
As much as I love nonsensical cool stuff, it feels like something that could be put to better use in a later comic or something. I guess you could say I've "freed up" the title in case I wanna use it for a future project.

I'm getting a severe case of deja vu with this, maybe I've discussed it before and forgot, but I wanted to bite the bullet and get it done with now, so from this day forward WOE's prologue is officially "Memories"!
(Admittedly it kinda removes a bit more of the ambiguity as to whether Ixis was dreaming or remembering, but let's be real; Everyone who's read WOE probably knew full well that they were real memories long before Ixis knows, haha.)

Chapter 4 Name Change

Okay so this is gonna seem odd, and I've never done something like this before, but I'm going to change the name of Chapter 4 before things get too far into it.

I feel like I've been super-sloppy with how I've handled WOE the past couple weeks, but labeling the entire chapters' pages with "Legion _" just feels off considering a good portion of it will be more of the ol' slice-of-life-y/romance stuff before things pick up pace again.

I'm sure it's no real secret that the chapter's climax will be a long-awaited showdown with Dalson Legion, but I don't want the entire chapter labeled with that. I know that now that I've uploaded the first actual page and was struck with a feeling of, "do I really want the Legion name lording over every event of the chapter?"

So now Chapter 4 will be "Verge", a much more ambiguous, (and cool!) name that won't feel out-of-place for the chapter's events. I put more into these chapter titles than it might seem, but Chapter 4 was such a long time coming that I never stopped to think about how the pages themselves would look. I had grown too accustomed to it as a behind-the-scenes title for the sake of organization.

Chapter 3 End Note

Damn, where do I even begin... Now that Chapter 3 is complete, I thought I'd put together a little news post to give an idea of what my upcoming comic plans are. I have a lot of stuff to do, some of which will take some time, and it's a tad overwhelming, but exciting!

I guess to keep things simple, here's the main gameplan for upcoming stuff:

  • Gonna take a short break to gather myself and start prepping stuff, work on page layouts, etc.
  • Make a Title page for The Crisis, and finish the chapter, giving closure to WOE's distant prequel.
  • I'm still planning on working on a guide for new readers, not only to give people a fast and painless alternative to the first couple chapters, but to introduce people to the comic and expanded universe a bit as well. I want to get this done soon because I'll feel much more comfortable sharing my comic in more places knowing newcomers will have plenty of info and options.
  • I really want to take some time to work on extra little things here and there. Solidify an intro to Time Land, consider rebooting Welcome to the IFS!, work on concept art, make some fanart, make a secret little extra between-chapters scene for WOE, just generally have some fun before I strap in for chapter 4.
  • And then of course, last but not least, I plan to whip up a title page for Chapter 4 and get back to the main story.

Again, lots of stuff, and that doesn't even touch on everything, but I'm pretty excited. WOE is feeling more and more like something worth sharing, as opposed to a shitty little comic with promises of cool stuff in the future. (Gee, it only took me close to a decade to reach that point, huh?)

I also really want to start rolling around ideas for a Patreon, but I'm super nervous about that since my fanbase is so quiet. I have a decent little following here but there's no telling whether a Patreon would be worthwhile yet or if it'd just come off as embarrassing. That and I'm still not sure what kinda stuff I could offer as incentive... Oh well! We'll see what the future holds!

I can't stress enough how much I love you guys for reading WOE, and I hope everyone enjoys what's to come!
